Weekly Devotion—June 4, 2025

By Pastor Chris Simmons

Know always that God’s Grace, Mercy, and Peace are yours through Jesus Christ.

  • If there was one thing you could experience again for the first time, what would it be and why? Maybe an event, a roller coaster, a food?

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
    I have called you by name, you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)

First… Congratulations, you’ve made it to Summer! For our students, this is a first. A first time graduating 8th grade, a first time passing from Kindergarten to 1st grade, a first time going from 5th grade into middle school. All of these experiences are moments they will hold onto; they will be formative. For Teachers & others, it’s another year, yet I know you have experienced new things, both good and not so good.

Finishing one thing and moving onto the next is exciting… yet can also be scary. With new things on the horizon, fear wants to forget the promises we already have in Christ. Fear not! Christ has conquered death and redeemed you. He calls you by name. You are His. We face all things as redeemed children of God.

Prayer

Lord God, we are grateful for your calling upon our lives, and your faithfulness you show as we go. As we walk the path you’ve laid before us, we see new things you are doing and new opportunities to engage with others. We ask you Lord, that when fear or anxiety would cloud our vision, that you would turn our eyes to you. Speak to our hearts Lord to embrace your goodness, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are mine”.
