By Pastor Chris Simmons

Know always that God’s Grace, Mercy, and Peace are yours through Jesus Christ.

  • What is something you didn’t like as a kid that you now like as an adult? What changed?

  • What was a tough time of life you got through? What was it like when things finally changed?

There is always a moment of change. Maybe it’s when a wound heals, a perspective shift, as you grow or mature to a certain point. Even with a joke, there is a moment where confusion turns to laughter. Jesus promises us that we will encounter hard times, but that sorrow will not last. Through His cross, all suffering will be transformed into a joy no one can take away.

John 16:20, 22, 33
20
Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy… 22 Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy….  33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Prayer

Lord God, we ask for you to give us perspective. We can become downtrodden by the burdens of life going through day to day. As we strive, we ask for that moment of transformation. As you have done throughout our lives, please transform our outlook on life, and fix the eyes of our heart upon you. We pray this all in your name Jesus. Amen.
